Thibaut Courtois’ future as been under the spotlight for some time now, and now he’s added fuel to the already blazing inferno.
You’ll be familiar with the situation by now. Courtois has one-year left on his contract, Real Madrid are thought to be keen, with his family still living in Madrid.
Courtois is thought to have had a contract offer on the table for some time, but is yet to put pen-to-paper and sign it.
With Eden Hazard suggesting yesterday that he is hoping to join Real Madrid before the end of the window, these comments from Courtois provide even further concern for Chelsea fans.
As the Telegraph report, Courtois has revealed that he will now take some time to think about his next step, while discussing it all with his agent.
That’s not the part we’re interested in, though. Courtois went on to say, as quoted by the Telegraph…
“Wherever I go Eden must come along. We will not let each other go.”
Hazard and Courtois are close friends. They’ve both been linked with Real Madrid. They are both dithering over signing new contracts. It seems as though their futures depend on each other.
Either Chelsea convince the both of them to stay, or they risk losing them.
