Kepa Arrizabalaga is not only one of the best shot-stoppers on the face of the planet – but he ain’t half bad with the ball at his feet either!
Kepa has been a revelation since signing for Chelsea from Athletic Bilbao back in the summer. Like him or hate him, we feared there’d be a void left by Thibaut Courtois’ departure. It turns out we’ve replaced him at first attempt.
Arrizabalaga has saved us time and time again with his cat-like reflexes and assured hands. It’s bizarre that for such a good goalkeeper most of the adulation he receives is for his work with the ball at his feet – but he’s just so bloody talented.
Kepa proved once AGAIN how good he is in possession during out 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon. On the edge of his penalty area, with no hope of recovery if he got it wrong, he backed his dribbling skills. Have a look at this…

We can’t think of a goalkeeper out there who’s a better fit for ‘Sarri-ball’ than Kepa. Any manager who is hoping to build a team with the capability to pass the ball out from the back needs someone like him between the sticks!
