Andreas Christensen will have given the Denmark camp a huge scare on Saturday afternoon having limped off during his country’s 1-0 victory over Peru.
Christensen is one of the first names on the team-sheet for Denmark. He made eight appearances for his country during 2017 and headed into this year’s World Cup knowing that he was going to be starting at the heart of defence.
He was imperious as the Danes locked horns with Peru. Christensen finished the game with a 92% pass accuracy, as well as completing 100% of his attempted tackles during his time on the field.
However, what was an encouraging performance by Christensen ended sourly after he limped off the field with ten minutes to go and was subsequently substituted.
The extent of the damage done to the Chelsea defender is yet unclear. We dearly hope that it’s nothing serious and his World Cup campaign has not come to a premature end.
