• Diego Costa scores for Spain against Portugal at the World Cup.
  • Costa reminds Chelsea fans of what we’ve missed since his departure.
  • Watch his superb goal below.

Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa is continuing to rub it in our face that we traded him for a much inferior centre-forward in Alvaro Morata.

Morata is sunning himself on holiday while Costa is finding the back of the net in arguably the biggest game of this year’s World Cup group stages – and what a goal it was too.

This is Costa at his brilliant best. Power, determination and a quality finish. We saw him do this time and time again during his time at Stamford Bridge, and we dearly missed it last term.

Chelsea will need to look to the transfer market this summer once again in search of a new striker. Whether or not Morata will be here next season remains to be seen. Regardless, we need to upgrade in order to be competitive once again.

With Antonio Conte set to depart, could we convince Costa to return? Probably not, but it’d be worth a try.
