Chelsea fans will have been glad to have the World Cup on this summer, because their club hasn’t been up to much. Beyond the sale of Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid and the purchase of Marco Palestra, it’s been deathly quiet on the transfer front.
That could yet change – there are a few irons in a few fires, and more than a few players up for sale.
Garnacho loan rumours unrealistic as Chelsea push for sale
One of them is Alejandro Garnacho. Bobby Vincent’s piece for Football.London today claims that the Blues are willing to listen to offers for him – but won’t consider a loan.
The Argentine had a brutally disappointing debut campaign at Chelsea after signing from Manchester United a year ago. The club would almost certainly let the 22 year old go if they could recoup the £40m they paid, but that feels pretty unlikely now.
Talk of a loan to Roma have also been shot down – the Blues don’t want to kick the can down the road, they want a more permanent solution. Let’s see if anyone bites…
