Mason Mount was on fire in Vitesse Arnhem’s 5-2 victory against ADO Den Haag after scoring a hat-trick along with an assist in a fantastic display.

Mount has gained beneficial experience at a professional level in the Eredivisie and he’s made an impact for the Dutch side, contributing 20 goals this season.

The 19-year-old has been seen as a long-term player for Chelsea having signed a new four-year contract that expires in 2021 after agreeing to join Vitesse on loan last summer

The Englishman is expected to come back to the Blues for pre-season as it’s unknown where the attacking midfielder’s short-term future lies.

We are all well aware of just how difficult it is to break into Chelsea’s first-team squad as a youngster. Andreas Christensen has done so this term, but he’s the first since club legend John Terry.

Mount has a higher ceiling than summer signing Danny Drinkwater, but the latter will likely be given opportunities to impress ahead of his younger, more talented, teammate.

Anyway, these are Mount’s highlights following Wednesday night’s emphatic performance: (Mount’s first goal – 4:46, Mount’s second goal – 5:24, Mount’s third goal – 10:05)
