Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte has suggested that he will give some of the youth players a chance against Nottingham Forest midweek, report the London Evening Standard.

Jose Mourinho often got an earful from Chelsea fans over his reluctance to use the youngsters during his time at Stamford Bridge, but Conte appears to have been immune from that criticism.

That is despite the likes of Nathaniel Chalobah and Nathan Ake having to move elsewhere to find regular game-time, and Andreas Christensen still not finding his way into the starting eleven after two very impressive years at Borussia Monchengladbach.

Conte has been provided with an great opportunity to give the youngsters some invaluable minutes midweek as Chelsea face Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup, and it looks as though he is going to take full advantage of it.

The London Evening Standard quote the Italian, who says exactly what every Chelsea fan has been waiting to hear:

“I think it is a good opportunity to see the young players that are training with us. They deserve to have an opportunity and I hope to take it.”
