Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has received adulation from an unlikely source – Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta.

Iniesta is arguably the greatest midfielder of his generation. What he achieved both with Barca and with the Spanish national team has etched his name into the footballing hall of fame.

The World Cup winner knows what skills you must possess to thrive in the midfield of a top club, because he ticked most of the boxes during his prime. He has now piled the praise on our Kante, and his words hold weight.

Kante is one of the best midfielders around, and has proven it over recent successes with both Leicester City, Chelsea and France. Iniesta has been watching, and he’s impressed.

Iniesta is quoted by the Metro saying:

“He’s a player I’d like to have had in my team for many years. He’s not going to come to Japan, but he’s definitely a player I love because of the work he does on the field and the confidence he has in his game.”

“His mastery makes him the centrepiece of Chelsea and the France national team.”

Iniesta’s not exactly in our good books, having scored THAT goal in THAT game, but if he continues to speak about our players in such a positive manner, he may well earn himself a few fans within the Chelsea faithful.
