Andreas Iniesta insists that Chelsea will be no push over as Barcelona are the Blues upcoming Champions League opponents.
As per Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo, Iniesta is relishing the chance to play at Stamford Bridge but things haven’t always gone Barcelona’s way at our home.
Clearly the midfielder’s best moment at the Bridge came in the highly controversial 1-1 draw between the two clubs in 2009. Iniesta’s last minute strike earned the Catalans a place in the final that year on away goals.
However, Iniesta still believes the tie against the Blues won’t be easy even with our inconsistent season so far, as Mundo Deportivo reports.
Iniesta is quoted by Mundo Deportivo saying:
“Chelsea are a dangerous opponent, teams of Antonio Conte are always very difficult to beat as we know before form both club and international teams.”
Could Chelsea knock Barcelona out again? 888sport have the latest Champions League odds for next week’s game. The blues will need to look back at past performances in our history with Barcelona, especially the ties in 2005 and 2012 where we came out on top.
With winning the league out of the question, it would be an enormous feat if we could knockout Iniesta’s team in Europe once again.
