Former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique could reportedly soon agree a deal to become Chelsea manager.
Enrique has been out of work since leaving the Nou Camp. The treble-winner had Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar at his disposal at Barca. It was arguably the greatest front-three we’ve seen in club football, he was blessed to have them at his disposal.
Life at Chelsea wouldn’t be so straight forward. We have Eden Hazard, but Olivier Giroud is no Luis Suarez, nor can Willian produce an ounce of the brilliance Lionel Messi possesses.
However, Enrique may well still be trusted to lead fifth-place Chelsea forward. Spanish publication Sport report that talks between the Blues and Enrique are back underway and a deal could soon be agreed between the two parties.
Sport mention the possibility of Enrique signing a three-year deal, which would expire in the summer of 2021. Let’s see if he’d make it that far first, not many do here…
