Chelsea have reportedly held talks with Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic over replacing Antonio Conte as manager.
Conte is still Chelsea manager. You could be forgiven for forgetting that, considering how seemingly close Maurizio Sarri came to replacing him. Talks between the club and Sarri appear to have collapsed now, meaning we are in the hunt for an alternative.
Jokanovic could be that man. He had Fulham playing incredibly stylish football on their way to promotion last season. He’d be a wildcard, but one that could pay off. A Mauricio Pochettino-esque appointment, one could argue.
According to the well-respected Gianluca Di Marzio, the Chelsea board have already held talks with Jokanovic over the ‘vacant’ manager’s position. There is thought to be concern over his lack of experience, but on paper he represents a much better option than Laurent Blanc.
