Chelsea are interested in signing Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney, according to the Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail believe that Antonio Conte has made signing a new left-back this summer a priority, with Marcos Alonso being the only natural option on the left flank of his back-line.
Celtic’s teen sensation Tierney appears to tick all of the boxes, but he will not come cheap. The Daily Mail report that the Scottish champions will demand a fee in the region of £17million in exchange for him.
That’s not the only obstacle Chelsea will have to hurdle in their pursuit of Tierney. The Daily Mail note that Arsenal and Manchester United are also in the race to secure his signature.
If Conte fails in his efforts to sign the Scottish international, he appears to already have lined up an alternative. According to the Daily Mail, the Italian could make a move to re-sign Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand.
One way or another, it appears as though defensive reinforcements are on their way.
