Chelsea are in a race against time to tie Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois down to new contracts before the 2018 World Cup in Russia, according to the Mirror.
Hazard and Courtois have been instrumental in two title triumphs during their time at Stamford Bridge. Both have the potential to become world-beaters in Blue and retire as club legends – that’s if they don’t choose to depart and move elsewhere.

As the Mirror report, Courtois is entering the final 18 months of his deal, and both players are being tracked by La Liga giants Real Madrid. It is very much a precarious situation from a Chelsea fan’s standpoint.
The Mirror believe that Chelsea are keen to get him to commit his future to the Premier League champions before both players potentially establish themselves among the world elite while they’re at the World Cup. The fear is that they will demand more cash if their stock rises while they’re in Russia.

Let’s hope that the tabloid’s information is correct and both players sign along the dotted line. Losing either of them would be an immeasurable blow – let alone both.
