Progress has been made during negotiations between Chelsea and Eden Hazard over a contract extension, according to TMW.

As per TMW, there is a positive feeling that the Premier League champions will be able to sign their talisman down to a new contract, with Hazard expected to extend his current deal until 2021 in the coming weeks.

The Sun claim that Hazard’s current contract expires in 2020, so if TMW’s information is correct, it would be just a one-year extension. However, The Sun note that the Belgium international currently earns £200K-a-week, and can expect a 50% increase on that wage packet if he puts pen-to-paper with the Blues.

Hazard has not featured for Chelsea since May having suffered a serious ankle injury on international duty in May. If we can get him fit and firing, we stand a great chance at retaining the title. It would also add to the current feel-good factor around the club if he were to sign a new deal. Fingers crossed!
