Chelsea appear to have an advantage over Manchester United in the race to sign Torino talisman Andrea Belotti.
The Daily Star believe that Chelsea and Man United are set to go head-to-head to secure Belotti’s signature in the summer transfer window.
The tabloid believe that Belotti will cost any interested party a whopping £84million, a transfer fee that would make him one of the most expensive players in football history. Both sides do, however, have immense financial power at their fingertips. If their interest in the Italian is as strong as the Star suggest, they may well stump up the cash.
The Star believe that Chelsea have a leg-up over Man United in the race to sign Belotti. The paper quote Belotti, who hints that winning the Champions League is one of his dreams:
“The World Cup is the dream for any player, just like the Champions League.”
Chelsea secured their place in the Champions League for next term with a 3-0 victory over Everton on Sunday afternoon. Man United, however, have a real fight on their hands to finish in the top four having drawn four of their last seven Premier League games.
If, as the Star believe, it does come down to a choice between Chelsea or United for Belotti this summer – that could well prove to be a deciding factor.
