Jorrel Hato is on an upwards trajectory.
He signed for Chelsea a year ago, and started the season getting relatively few minutes. But as the year went by he played more and more, and better and better. He was one of just a couple of players to emerge from the Liam Rosenior era with any credit.
Since then, Marc Cucurella has been sold and Hato effectively bumped up the pecking order to first choice at left back. He spoke to the club’s official website about where he saw himself after a year at Stamford Bridge.
Hato on rising through the ranks
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at Chelsea. Even though I wasn’t playing too much at the start, I never regretted it. I knew that I’d made a good decision to transfer to Chelsea,” Hato said.
‘”I’m really happy with the people here, and with my team-mates. I’m excited to push on. We’ve had a number of coaches during my time here, but under Xabi I think we have a great manager and we have a great opportunity to push for trophies.
“It’s very early to say that, of course, but I have the faith and the confidence in this team that we could do something special this season.”
It’s a big jump for him to be an every week starter in the Premier League, and we can’t wait to see how he copes with it.
