Antonio Conte has reportedly suffered a major blow in his pursuit of AS Roma midfield general Radja Nainggolan.
Calciomercato report that Chelsea are interested in signing the Belgian international, with Conte seeking midfield reinforcements in the summer transfer window. The Italian outlet believe that Roma may well be keen to cash-in too in order to comply with financial fair play regulations.
However, it does not appear as though Nainggolan is keen on a switch to Stamford Bridge. Calciomercato believe that the 29-year-old wants to join Roma’s Serie A counterparts Inter Milan. Calciomercato report that Inter will be able to able to add the combative midfielder to their ranks this summer if Roma’s £33.8million asking price is met.
Calciomercato note that Chelsea are also joined by Arsenal and Juventus in the race to sign Nainggolan. All three sides will likely have to look elsewhere in their respective bids to strengthen their midfields.
