We have an injury update to bring you ahead of Chelsea’s Carabao Cup clash with Derby County tomorrow night, courtesy of Physio Room.
Maurizio Sarri looks set to be without three for the game, with Pedro, Eden Hazard and Ethan Ampadu all looking like they will be watching from the sidelines.
Pedro was withdrawn during Chelsea’s clash with Burnley at the weekend. As Physio Room report, his condition has improved but the Spaniard is not yet 100%.
It is unclear at this stage whether he will be fit to feature in the game. A final decision on his availability will likely be made on match day.
Hazard has been absent ever since our 2-2 draw with Manchester United, but it looks as though a return is on the horizon for the Belgian.
However, he will not be risked for tomorrow’s game in order to ensure his fitness to take on Crystal Palace at the weekend. That seems like a sensible move from Maurizio Sarri.
Ethan Ampadu would likely have been involved in this fixture if fit, but the Welshman is still recovering from an injury he sustained while on international duty.
Physio Room report that no return date has yet been set, so it’s unclear when we’ll see the youngster back in action. Fingers crossed it won’t be too long now.
