Chelsea’s starting eleven to face Malmo in the Europa League tonight has been confirmed – and Callum Hudson-Odoi IS starting!
With Maurizio Sarri under pressure at Chelsea, he needs to convince both the board and the fans that there is a bright future ahead for us. With his continual insistence on ignoring our younger players, we were beginning to question if that was the case.
Hudson-Odoi will more than likely sign for Bayern Munich this coming summer, but we won’t go down without a fight. The only way we can convince him to stay at this club is by giving him the maximum possible game-time. Tonight is a small step towards that.
Ethan Ampadu may feel aggrieved to miss out, especially with Jorginho being rested for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final, but Mateo Kovacic has a chance to familiarise himself with that role and could displace Jorginho entirely if his performances justify it.
Here’s what our starting eleven looks like in full. If you can’t catch the game tonight, we’ll be providing coverage over on Twitter @TalkChelsea.
