Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has admitted he wants more football action, following his long spell on the sidelines due to injury, after being named in the 30-man shortlist for the 2017 Ballon d’Or.

The attacker has started only three first team games for Chelsea this season, making four substitute appearances across the Premier League and Champions League.

He has as well failed to register a single goal for the Blues this season despite impressive performances in some games, especially against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.

His return to top form from injury has been slow but Hazard agrees he needs more playing time to get back to his best by the end of the season. Sky Sports quote Hazard, who says:

“I missed football for three months. It is not easy to come back. I worked during the summer. I just want to play football. I just want to play football and try to bring the best out of me.”

Hazard will hope to have a repeat of the form he was on or better the performances of last season, in order to match the expectations on his doorstep as arguably Chelsea’s best player.

Chelsea currently trail both Manchester club on the league table, as Conte’s side sit fourth. We’ll need Hazard to be at his best if we want to close the gap on our rivals.
