Eden Hazard has revealed that he would like to play under former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho again in his career, report The Sun.

Hazard spent two-and-a-half-years under Hazard’s stewardship. The first remains one of the best of his Chelsea career. The second saw him win the Premier League title for the first time. The less said about the third, the better.

The Belgian was almost inexplicably far below his usual performance level. The whole team, and Mourinho, suffered as a result of Hazard’s inability to perform.

Hazard has is well aware of his shortfalls and has attempted to explain why he was so poor during the 2015/16 campaign. He’s quoted by The Sun saying:

“In 12 years I’ve only had one bad season, the last 6 months under Mourinho and it was partly my own fault. After the title, we asked Mourinho for extra holidays. I came back totally out of shape.”

“The last season under Mourinho was not enjoyable. We didn’t win, we got into a sort of routine, training without having fun, it was better for all parties that we parted ways.”

The 27-year-old went on to add that, if given a choice of working under any previous manager once again, Mourinho would be his choice, as The Sun report:

“But if I’m asked now about one coach with whom I want to work again, I would say Mourinho.”

“I sent him a message to say I was sorry he had gone and that I was sorry. We’d enjoyed all that success together, but this time we hadn’t.”

A penny for the thoughts of Antonio Conte reading the comments. It doesn’t look as though he had many fans within the confines of the Chelsea dressing room.

Mourinho is a renown man-manager. It’s no surprise that he built a close relationship with Hazard, who was without doubt his most important player during his time at the club.

Unfortunately for Hazard, his stock is meteorically rising, while Mourinho’s continues to fall. The possibility of the pair ever reuniting is slim.
