  • The draw for the Europa League round of 32 has been made.
  • Chelsea will face in Swedish side Malmo in the next round.

Competition favourites Chelsea have drawn Swedish outfit Malmo in the last 32 of the Europa League.

The Blues breezed through their group, which granted was always going to happen considering the relatively weak nature of the opposition (all due respect).

The only goals we conceded in the group stage game in our final game, which was a complete dead rubber with Chelsea already qualifying as group winners with a game to spare.

That’s now behind us and we can look forward to the latter stages of the competition. Malmo provide the latest test for us on this unfavourable European tour.

Malmo finished second to Genk in Group I, narrowly ahead of Turkish side Besiktas. We can’t take anything for granted in football, but you have to fancy us to defeat them over two legs.

Chelsea remain favourites to win the entire competition, and if we are to achieve that, we have to face decent teams at some point. For now, though, Malmo will do nicely.
