‘Not a lot of youth’ – Chelsea fans react to starting line-up against Morecambe

Chelsea’s manager Frank Lampard has confirmed his starting line-up for this afternoon’s FA Cup game against league two side Morecambe.

There’s a rare start for Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal, this gives Edouard Mendy a much-needed break.

Cesar Azpilicueta starts for the third game in a row and Emerson gets the nod coming in to replace Ben Chilwell. Antonio Rudiger comes in to replace Thiago Silva at the heart of the Blues defence and is joined by ever-present Kurt Zouma.

Kai Havertz, Mason Mount and Billy Gilmour make up the three in midfield. In attack, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi will play on the flanks while Timo Werner starts up top for the second game in a row.

Marcel Lewis, Tino Livramento, Jude Soonsup-Bell and Lewis Bate who had trained with the first team this week have not been included.

I think today's line-up makes complete sense:

1. We need to get back on track.
2. We don't have a fixture pile up so we don't need to rest players.
3. I love to see youth make their debut but is there much point if they're not going to play any other part this season?#Chelsea

Livramento or Lawrence at least deserves to start at RB and rest Azpi, Anjorin too ahead of not fully fit Ziyech.

Not a lot of youth in the squad today to face Morecambe, Soonsup-Bell and others aren’t involved.

Makes a lot of sense considering the first team is desperate for momentum. There will be rotation, but a few key players need to build some confidence today.
