David Luiz 17th 2

Former Blue Ray Wilkins has been discussing David Luiz’s sending off during an interview with talkSPORT, and his comments are entirely bizarre.

Wilkins knows Chelsea football club like the back of his hand having been employed as both a player as a coach with the Blues. Nowadays he works as a pundit, and sticks to discussing current affairs at the club, rather than being a part of them.

His latest comments are about Luiz’s red card. The Brazilian was sent off in the 87th minute of Chelsea’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal on Sunday, effectively ending any hope that we had of taking all three points from the contest.

Wilkins has a theory as to what was going through Luiz’s head at the time of the incident, and it’s a definite eyebrow raiser. talkSPORT quote Wilkins, who says:

“It was an atrocious tackle. He either wants to hurt Kolasinac, or he’s afraid. I’ll go for the latter. He saw him coming towards him and thought, ‘wow, this fella is a giant’ and he basically wet himself.”

The 61-year-old believes that the combative and courageous Luiz was intimidated by the muscular Kolasinac and proceeded to ‘wet himself’. We’re not so sure about that one, Ray.
