Stoke City have joined the race to sign Chelsea captain John Terry when his contract expires at the end of the season, according to The Sun.
The Sun report that Stoke were keen to sign Bruno Martins Indi, who has spent the season on loan with the Potters, on a permanent basis. However, the tabloid believe that his parent club, Porto, are now keen to keep him around for next season.
According to The Sun, Stoke boss Mark Hughes will turn to Chelsea veteran Terry in his search for defensive reinforcements. Terry’s contract with the Blues expires at the season’s end, and it has been announced that he will not be putting pen-to-paper on an extension.
Hughes’ pursuit of Terry will be a difficult one, though, The Sun believe that the former England captain his set to receive offers from Bournemouth and the Chinese Super League.
It would be good to see Terry continue to play in the Premier League beyond this season, he is certainly still good enough.
