Diego Costa on fire for Chelsea
Diego Costa was phenomenal for Chelsea in the Premier League last season.

Atletico Madrid are interested in re-signing Chelsea hitman Diego Costa this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Costa certainly made a name for himself during his previous stint with Atletico. In the 2013/14 season, he bagged 36 goals in all competitions, firing Diego Simeone’s side to the La Liga title.

It earned him a move to Chelsea, where he has continued to find the back of the net – 52 times in 87 Premier League appearances, in fact.

The Daily Mail report that Costa was Simeone’s number one target last summer, but a move never materialised. The tabloid believe that the Atletico boss will return for Costa this summer, and may well stand a better chance at securing his signature.

Costa is not the only option for Atletico, however. The Daily Mail believe that Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is also being considered, and Simeone is also an admirer of Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy. This is one to keep an eye on as we approach the summer transfer window.
