The Callum Hudson-Odoi saga is far from over, with both Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig preparing bids to try and sign the Chelsea starlet.
Callum Hudson-Odoi’s long-term future at Chelsea is under the spotlight. There’s yet to be a breakthrough in contract talks with the 18-year-old, with interest in the Englishman growing by the day. Bayern Munich have been the side most strongly linked, but they’re not alone.
According to the Daily Mail, RB Leipzig are also interested – and they can offer us something different. While Bayern are thought to be prepared to splash £40M to sign Hudson-Odoi and will try their luck before the month’s end, RB Leipzig are open to a buy-back option.
The report claims that RB Leipzig are willing to pay £20M for Hudson-Odoi plus the inclusion of a buy-back clause which would ensure Chelsea are front of the queue to sign him if he managed to fulfil his potential while playing in the Bundesliga.
Chelsea are also willing to break the bank to retain his services, with an £80K-a-week contract offer, but it’s unclear on Hudson-Odoi’s intentions at this point. We’ll have to wait until the end of the month to have a clearer idea of where his future lies.
