Chelsea’s two-man January striker wish-list reads as follows – Mauro Icardi and¬†Krzysztof Piatek. That’s according to Daily Mail reporter Matt Barlow, anyway.

It would come as a surprise to few if Maurizio Sarri looked to the market in search of a new centre-forward in the winter.

Alvaro Morata is not the answer to any questions we’ve been posed since his arrival, and Olivier Giroud, while he has his own unique strengths, is struggling to find the back of the net himself.

Chelsea have a striker problem and have ever since the departure of Diego Costa. The club appear to be well aware of this, and are preparing transfer plans accordingly.

The Daily Mail claim that two strikers have been lined up, and though they have two completely different profiles, they have one key thing in common – they score goals.

That’s more than could be said for either of our two, so we’d greet pursuits of either of these players with open arms. Let’s make it happen.
