Chelsea are reportedly in a straight battle with Real Madrid for the signature of AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson.
At the time of writing, there appears no need for us to be in the market for a new goalkeeper. However, that may soon change.
Thibaut Courtois has just one-year remaining on his contract, with interest in signing him, as you may expect, thought to be high.
His family still reside in Madrid, so a move to the Santiago Bernabeu will inevitably be a tempting proposition for the Belgian.
If Courtois does decide to call time on his Chelsea career, we will need to replace him with a goalkeeper of similar quality. Alisson is one of few.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Chelsea and Real Madrid are set to go head-to-head for the signature of Brazil’s number one.
It’s believed that AS Roma will demand a figure in the region of €100M for Alisson, but initial proposals are likely to be nearer the €75M mark.
Is that a price you’d be willing to pay for Alisson this summer, Blues?
