Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa is reportedly a summer transfer target for Chelsea.

Virtually every player still active in the football world who has played a minute of action in the Serie A since the turn of the millennium has been linked with a move to Chelsea in recent weeks.

Media publications worldwide have assumed that Maurizio Sarri’s pre-existing knowledge of Italy’s top-flight means that he will narrow his search for summer reinforcements to those competing in his home country.

From Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani at Juventus, to Kostas Manolas and Radja Nainggolan at AS Roma, Mauro Icardi and Matias Vecino at Inter, and Kalidou Koulibaly and Elseid Hysaj at Napoli. The aforementioned players are just a few who have been linked with Chelsea this month.

It looks as now we’re now moving onto Fiorentina. According to TMW, Chelsea are in the running to sign Chiesa from Fiorentina. Juventus, Napoli and Tottenham Hotspur are also thought to be keen on signing the 20-year-old this summer.

Chelsea are in dire need of a new winger, with Willian and Pedro set to be the wrong side of thirty come the end of 2018. Is Chiesa the man we’re after, or is this rumour merely a product of more lazy journalism? Only time will tell.
