Calciomercato believe that these recent comments from Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri will give Chelsea some encouragement in our reported pursuit of striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Higuain would a pricy solution to our current striker predicament, but that’s not something that we ought to fear. Cutting corners is dangerous, our rivals aren’t doing it and neither should we. We should look to recruit the best, and he’s one of them.

Previous reports have suggested that Maurizio Sarri would like to bring Higuain to Stamford Bridge when he becomes manager. The Argentine enjoyed the most successful season of his career under Sarri’s stewardship at Napoli.

If Sarri’s interest is genuine, and the Chelsea board give the green-light, signing Higuain may not be beyond the realms of possibility.

Italian outlet Calciomercato note Chelsea’s interest and claim that these comments from Allegri will put a smile on the face of our transfer negotiator Marina Granovskaia:

“Juve has the strength to satisfy those who want to leave. The club is solid, letting the players stay against it is always harmful. We wait and see, in the year of the world championships the market always decides after the competition”

What do you think, Blues?
