Chelsea have reportedly had an opening offer for AS Roma centre-back Kostas Manolas rejected.
The Blues raided AS Roma on two occasions last season, poaching defenders Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri.
If recent reports are accurate, we’re trying our luck once again, this time for Greece international Manolas.
Manolas has developed into one of the best defenders in Serie A. He scored the goal that sent AS Roma into the Champions League semi-finals and past Barcelona.
His good performances at the Stadio Olimpico have been making waves around Europe, and Chlsea appear keen to position themselves at the front of the queue for his signature.
According to TMW, Chelsea have lodged an official offer to sign Manolas. It has, though, been rejected.
The amount offered is at this point unknown. TMW’s report claims that Chelsea are still keeping tabs on the situation surrounding Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
Only time will tell if Chelsea will bid again.
