Chelsea are in pole position to sign Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, according to AS.
AS report that Chelsea’s interest in signing Rodriguez is growing. The Spanish outlet believe that the Blues tried to tried the Colombia international in the January transfer window following Oscar’s departure to the Chinese Super League, but Rodriguez snubbed the move.
AS believe that Antonio Conte has not given up on signing Rodriguez, and could make a move to sign him, and teammate Alvaro Morata, this summer. It is also reported that Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa’s time as Chelsea players are coming to an end, and their sales would create room for the arrivals of the Los Blancos duo.
According to AS, Morata is close to joining Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United, but Rodriguez is more likely to make the move to Stamford Bridge. What a signing, and a statement of intent, he would be.
