Jordi Alba has delivered an update on his future with Barcelona amid reported interest from the Premier League.

Alba needs little introduction, he’s one of the best full-backs of his generation. He’s playing a starring role in recent successes for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

We brought you the news on Thursday evening that Alba had been linked with a move to Chelsea. Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were also thought to be keen on the 29-year-old, who has a £52.6M release clause in his Barcelona contract.

However, it does not appear as though Alba is looking to leave the Nou Camp anytime soon. In fact, he’s even gone as far as saying he’d happily finish his career with the Catalan giants.

Alba is quoted by The Sun saying:

“If it were up to me, I would stay at Barcelona all my life.”

Now here’s where it gets interesting. Alba has suggested that his future with Barcelona may well be out of his hands, which may encourage Chelsea, United and Spurs to bid.

“But it does not depend on me but on what the club wants.”
