Chelsea have reportedly placed two Premier League players on their summer transfer wish-list.
Too often have we recruited from abroad and players have struggled to adapt. Signing tried and tested Premier League players, on paper, appears to be an astute strategy. However, as shown with Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley, it doesn’t guarantee success.
Despite that, Chelsea appear to have identified two players within England’s top-flight which we are hoping to sign this summer.
According to the London Evening Standard, those players are Manchester United forward Anthony Martial and Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles.
Both players would be extremely hard to prise away from their current employers, but Chelsea are well within their rights to give it a go.
We can’t afford to spend this summer pursuing unobtainable targets. If discussions hit a brick wall for either of the aforementioned players, we ought to swiftly move on to alternative targets.
