Chelsea are reportedly set to hold talks to sign OGC Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri today.
Seri attracted interest from both Barcelona and Arsenal last summer. However, he remained at OGC Nice for another season, perhaps against his will. He could now, however, be about to get his long-awaited move to a top side, with Chelsea thought to be interested in securing his services.
Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley have all so far failed to prove themselves able to be the answer to our problems in the middle of the park. Seri could be that man, and Chelsea appear to hold a genuine interest in signing him.
According to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri (via the Daily Star), Chelsea will hold talks with Seri himself and his current employers OGC Nice today (Friday) over the possibility of the Ivorian moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Except, Palmeri has not mentioned Seri’s name, at all. He has, in fact, tweeted about Chelsea managerial target Maurizio Sarri holding talks with the Blues. This is an almighty blunder from the Daily Star.
Sarri, Seri… they’re interchangeable, right? pic.twitter.com/RmmcCSGMVo
