Chelsea are reportedly set to re-open talks with Juventus for centre-back Daniele Rugani this week.
That’s according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, who seems to know everything about everything this summer.
Pedulla does appear to have close ties to Maurizio Sarri. He broke exclusive photos of Sarri at Stamford Bridge before his appointment was announced.
He was right about Sarri, so let’s hope he’s right about this one too.
It’s claimed Chelsea will now go back in for Rugani, who is valued in the region of €45M. Talks are already thought to be underway.
Chelsea do not appear to be in any dire need of a new centre-back, but that could face change if one or two head for the exit door.
David Luiz’s Chelsea future remains in doubt, while Kurt Zouma lost his squad number to Jorginho on Sunday. Rugani’s assistance may well be required at the back.
Let’s wait and see if this one develops…
