Chelsea have reportedly slapped a hefty price-tag on Marcos Alonso amid reported interest from his native Spain.
Alonso has divided opinion among Chelsea fans during his two-year stint here. He is highly rated by his fellow professionals. He appears to be by Maurizio Sarri, too.
Irrespective of what you think of Alonso, selling him without the possibility of recruiting a replacement would be an incredibly naive move. Chelsea appear to agree.
According to AS, Chelsea have no interest in allowing Alonso to walk out the door, despite interest from both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
AS believe that Chelsea have placed a €60M price-tag on Alonso’s head in hope of fending off interest from the two La Liga giants.
Alonso will be going nowhere this summer, but the report suggests that both sides may shelve their interest and come in for the 27-year-old at a later date.
If they do, €60M is the price they’ll have to pay. That’s plenty of money for us to reinvest into an upgrade. There’s no impending drama here.
