N’Golo Kante has been quizzed on his future at Chelsea while away on international duty with France at the World Cup.
The prospect of losing Kante is one that none of us want to entertain. Our midfield was utterly shocking last season, yet he found a way to shine in the middle of the park.
Kante is the best box-to-box midfielder in the world. There’s none better. Being as good as Kante is attracts inevitable interest from the biggest and best sides in the world.
Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have both been linked with a move to sign Kante this summer. Though we don’t need the cash, there’s always the possibility he’ll push to leave.
Those fears have only been worsened by Kante’s reluctance to commit his future to Chelsea when asked about his future at Stamford Bridge.
Kante is quoted by GFFN saying:
“I am not concerned with all that. Today, I am at Chelsea, and today I am currently living and playing in the World Cup, that is what comes first.”
“I am not paying attention to what is being said on the club side of things at the moment.”
He offers no indication that a move elsewhere is imminent. Kante merely insists that he is focused on the task at hand in Russia.
Perhaps we are being paranoid, but we’d like him to laugh off those rumours and reveal a Chelsea tattoo he’s had done on his forearm.
