Alvaro Morata has revealed that he is dreaming of returning to Real Madrid one day. That’s just what you want to hear from your a man who we made our club-record signing.

Despite Chelsea spending such a hefty amount on recruiting the Spaniard, and showing a huge amount of faith in him through his struggles last season, Morata has not shied away from openly discussing the possibility of leaving the club at some point in the future.

It’s no secret that Real Madrid are Morata’s beloved club. He came through the academy there and departed Juventus in hope of finally making it with Los Blancos. Though he failed to do so, he hasn’t ruled out the possibility of giving it another shot.

Morata is quoted by Standard Sport saying:

“Who would not like it?”

“I am happy at Chelsea but I have many years ahead in my career if God and injuries allow it. Mariano said Madrid never close the door and look what happened. You never know.”

“I’m in Chelsea, not in a team that are very inferior. It is clear that Madrid are the best in the world and everyone wants to be there but I’m not envious [of Mariano].”

Morata isn’t going anywhere for now, but if we could get a better striker in the door, we wouldn’t be opposed to cashing in. It seems unlikely that Real Madrid would be interested, though…
