Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand has been linked with a potential move back to Chelsea, with Manchester City also interested as the Daily Star reports.
Bertrand left Chelsea in 2014 but could well be on his way back to Stamford Bridge as another left-back is once again linked with a move to the champions.
The Blues missed out on key target Alex Sandro in a £73m bid rejected from Juventus in the summer according to the Express. Bertrand may just be the plan B option for manager Antonio Conte.
However, according to the Daily Star, City are also keen to sign Bertrand they are also short of options with Benjamin Mendy suffering a long-term injury.
Chelsea may be Bertrand’s number one choice as he may believe he has unfinished business with us. However, a fee needs to be agreed with Southampton and the player agrees on personal terms.
The 28-year-old would be a welcome addition and would provide competition for Marcos Alonso’s spot in the team.
