Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reportedly open to the idea of leaving Chelsea on-loan this month.
Following the considerable rise in his reputation following a successful stint at Crystal Palace, it seemed likely that Loftus-Cheek would stay put this season.
He impressed for England at the World Cup, proving that he is ready to compete at the top level. But it’s Chelsea we’re talking about here, he might not get the chance do so.
Loftus-Cheek is well aware of that fact and is thought to be considering departing this summer – but only on-loan.
That’s according to the Times, who claim that Loftus-Cheek is seeking assurances over his game-time under Maurizio Sarri’s leadership.
If he is starved of regular minutes at the start of the new season, he is thought to be willing to push for a loan move away from Chelsea – even abroad!
We were looking forward to seeing him in a Chelsea shirt this season, but he’s right, he does need to be playing regularly.
Loftus-Cheek has his head screwed on straight, which is rare for a player of his age. It’ll see him go far in his career. Hopefully at Chelsea.
