Outside Stamford Bridge

Marcos Alonso has suggested that Eden Hazard and his family are ‘very happy’ at Chelsea.

All summer long Hazard was linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. If not for the departure of Zinedine Zidane, the transfer may well have materialised.

Hazard remains a Chelsea player and has started the season in electric form, scoring twice and providing two assists in his opening four Premier League fixtures.

He’s playing with a smile on his face, and Alonso claims to know why – because he’s happy as a Blue.

Alonso is quoted by the Express saying:

“I didn’t see Hazard at Madrid. He is very happy at Chelsea. I don’t know if there was an interest or not but Hazard and his family are very happy here [at Chelsea].”

Alonso will no doubt be delighted that Hazard remains. The Belgian is often double-marked down the left-hand-side, allowing Alonso to slip into the pockets of space and get at goal.

Opposition sides will be shaking in their boots seeing how the pair have started the season. Strap yourselves in, Chelsea fans, and enjoy the show they’re putting on for us.
