Gianfranco Zola has confirmed that Bayern Munich are interested in signing Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi.
Hudson-Odoi is considered our most promising young player. Forget the likes of Gael Kakuta and Jeremie Boga that came before, he has already proven himself able to cut it in the professional game.
On paper, he’s exactly what our attack needs. A touch of excitement, of final product, of actual real-life goals. Try telling that to Maurizio Sarri, though, who seems intent on keeping him among the substitutes, or not in the matchday squad at all.
Hudson-Odoi is stalling on a new contract as a result of his lack of game-time, and Bayern Munich are attempting to take advantage of the situation.
Ahead of our clash with Nottingham Forest at the weekend, Gianfranco Zola confirmed the German’s interest in CHO, but insisted that Chelsea are doing all they can do keep him.
Zola is quoted by the BBC saying:
“We’ve proposed a contract for quite a while, so we’re waiting.”
“We certainly value him as a player. It’s about patience. I believe he has a bright future with us.”
“I know Bayern is very interested in him, but we’re interested in him as well.”
