Chelsea could be forced to cross three names off of Maurizio Sarri’s transfer wish-list before he even signs along the dotted line.
Sarri is on the verge of replacing Antonio Conte as Chelsea manager. Reports in Italy have suggested that the deal could be completed as early as Tuesday. We are eagerly awaiting official confirmation of the appointment.
There is a claim in Football Italia‘s report, though, that may anger Sarri. It’s believed that the Italian was keen to see several of his former Napoli stars follow him to Stamford Bridge – but that’s no longer going to be possible.
Football Italia report that as part of the deal agreed with Napoli for the release of Sarri from his contract, Chelsea have pledged not to activate the release clauses of Piotr Zielinski, Elseid Hysaj or Raul Albiol.
All three players have been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks, so this comes as a concern ahead of Sarri’s appointment. Let’s hope the club are already preparing alternatives.
