Reported Chelsea target Marco Asensio is not best pleased with the club’s pursuit of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski is another who Chelsea have been linked with this transfer window, but we would all have to acknowledge that the Santiago Bernabeu is a more realistic destination for the Poland international.
According to Diario Gol, Asensio is concerned that Lewandowski’s arrival could have a knock-on effect and push him even further down the pecking order in Madrid. He could look to leave the club if he arrives.
Chelsea are thought to be interested in signing Asensio this summer. Even if we miss out on Lewandowski and the 29-year-old puts pen to paper with Los Blancos, the move could push Asensio in our direction.
Though the Spaniard would likely not come cheap, at 22-years-old he has the potential to be one of the best in the world. Any expenditure could be justified by the potential reward of having him at the club.
