Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly opened talks to sign Chelsea target and Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
It was reported by Paris United earlier this month that Ndombele was on Chelsea’s list of potential replacements for N’Golo Kante.
Though Kante’s departure is unlikely, he has been linked to both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. It’s always best to have a contingency plan prepared.
Chelsea may soon be forced to cross Ndombele’s name off the list, though, as Tottenham Hotspur are thought to have made their move to sign the Frenchman.
According to L’Equipe, talks are already underway between Spurs and Lyon over the transfer of Ndombele. It’s thought that an offer in the region of £35M could soon be made.
With Mousa Dembele widely expected to leave Spurs this summer, Ndombele would provide an excellent replacement in the middle of the park.
The other two players on Chelsea’s shortlist were thought to be Napoli’s Amadou Diawara and OGC Nice’s Jean Michael Seri. It may soon be narrowed down to the pair of them.
