Tottenham are expected to reject any advances from Chelsea for their talented left-back Danny Rose, according to the Evening Standard.
Last week, the Spurs defender gave an interview with The Sun in which he criticised his current employers, claiming that they lacked ambition and needed to make better signings in order to stay competitive in the league.
In the wake of Rose’s explosive interview, The Sun reported that Chelsea were preparing a huge £50 million bid for the England international to take him across London. As per the Evening Standard, the Blues are believed to be willing to double Rose’s wages to around £120,000-a-week, making him one of the highest paid players at the club.
However, the Evening Standard are now reporting that Spurs will refuse to entertain any bids from the Blues for the defender as they do not want to strengthen their London rivals.
Chelsea face Tottenham at Wembley on Sunday, with Rose sidelined through injury. Could the England defender be wearing a blue shirt the next time the two clubs meet?
