Chelsea have had one of the very worst title defences in the history of the Premier League, a season that has been very well summed up in our performance against Manchester City last year.

In the middle of the dreadfulness of our season, a tiny flame of hope burned in the stormy weather, and that flame is our own youngster, Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

“Cheeky” has showcased why he was given confidence from Guus Hiddink, in a game where he would never have played under the previous regime. He was arguably the most impressive of our players on the evening:

The 20-year old has grown a lot since he made his debut last season, in a much cheerier situation for the club in general. And it is certainly interesting to see how things will be for our youngster in 12-months time.

Let’s hope he will be even better by then!

Loftus cheek wasn’t impressive….Pedro and Willian were the better players on the pitch…comeon
