Chelsea academy product Mason Mount scored his very first professional goal on Sunday afternoon.
Mount is considered one of the most promising of the current crop of Blues youngsters. He has impressed both for our development sides and for England between sU16 and U19 level.
The natural next step for Mount after excelling for Chelsea U18s was a loan, and Vitesse provided the perfect platform for him to showcase his talent. He has wasted no time in doing so.
The Eredivisie outfit were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Utrecht at the GelreDome on Sunday afternoon, but they would have been left empty handed had it not been for Mount’s equaliser with 15 minutes to go.
Something tells us this won’t be the last time Mount finds the back of the net this campaign…
